Capital Reef and Escalante
Workshop 1 May 3rd – 8th, 2020
Workshop 2 May 10th – 15th, 2020
Maximum of 7 Students – Minimum of 4
Located in south-central Utah in the heart of red rock country, Capitol Reef National Park is a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic monocline (a wrinkle on the earth) extending almost 100 miles. Of all of America’s nation Parks Capital Reef still remains unspoiled from all of the crowds and tour buses. Majestic cliffs tower over you while the stands of brilliant golden cotton woods stand in a stark color contrast to the red walls of the cliffs. Swirling sandstone clay mounds with its many geologic layers create a photographers paradise for you to capture.
We will also be traveling to Escalante Staircase just south of Capital Reef with its colorful hoodoo formations, spectacular vistas and swirling sandstone. Both these areas abound with opportunities for both traditional and abstract landscape photography.
$1695.00 Workshop price includes instruction only. Lodging, transportation and meals are the students responsibility. I have arranged for group rates at the Days Inn Torrey, UT ( I will send you the discount code once the deposit is received). We will carpool. Limited to 7 students. A minimum of 4 fully paid participants is required. I highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for this and any other travel.
